The Store

Whatever you need

A heritage timber general store on the main street of the village: groceries, papers, produce, bread and coffee, and a bench of house baking.

Shelves of sauces and preserves under the pantry sign.

Groceries and pantry

Shelves for the week, not just the weekend

It is a real general store: timber floors, stocked shelves, and a pantry sign over the sauces and preserves. Staples and treats sit beside the local makers listed further down.

The long aisle with the newspaper and magazine rack beside fresh produce.

The newsagency

Papers and magazines, by the produce

Newspapers, magazines and cards live in the same aisle as the fruit and veg, so the morning paper and the morning shop are one stop. Skeeter the shop cat has been known to sit in the paper rack.

The produce stand inside the door: pumpkins, corn, apples and zucchini. Watermelons stacked on the verandah.

Fresh produce

Pumpkins by the door, watermelons on the verandah

Fresh fruit and vegetables sit just inside the door, with more on the verandah in season. They grow mandarins of their own too: when they posted on 1 May 2026 they were $5 a bag.

Sourdough loaves on the timber bread shelf with chalk labels.

Bread

The sourdough shelf

The sourdough comes from Berry bakery, along with cakes, quiches and apple pies. The croissants, babka, tarts and slices are baked in the store: see The Bench.

The verandah coffee corner with the round coffee sign and pastel stools.

Coffee

Coffee on the verandah

The front verandah has a coffee corner with turquoise tables and pastel stools, and a counter inside with the espresso machine. Sit out front with a pastry from the bench.

A jar with a chalk label reading Kombucha mother $10.

Kombucha

Want to brew your own? There was a kombucha mother on the shelf, chalked at $10 when the photo was taken.
